Nia Billings, M.S. is a psychology associate, researcher, and educator. She is a contributor for Tocar Spa’s Healthy Living Guide and focuses the topics of her newsletter posts on improving overall well-being, mental health, and life satisfaction. She completed her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She utilizes the biopsychosocial model of mental health, in that health and behavior result from an interaction between one’s biological attributes, mental processes and social factors.
Nia has worked as a researcher at multiple universities, multidisciplinary teams at medical centers, and non-profit organizations and has also worked as a mentor, advocate, and case manager for individuals with various physical and developmental disabilities. She currently holds a professorship at a local college Baltimore. Nia is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Autism Society of American, and serves on the board for several committees.
